Drive to Meteor Crater in Winslow, AZ

The drive to Meteor Crater passed by Lake Powell. These photos show that Lake Powell is more than 100 feet below prior levels.

We went to an early dinner at the nearby Twin Arrow Casino and had a wonderful dinner at the below table in front of the fireplace. It was lovely and very quiet . Nice!

Beautiful sculpture on a parsons table in the restaurant entrance

Bryce National Park was an amazing experience.  The sky was a little overcast which cooled the day a little.
I loved listening to people gasp when they first arrived at the rim. The sight was incredibly beautiful and unique.

There was a rim walk that was about 2+ miles long. Each direction you looked was a different spectacle and every time the sun or clouds changed positions so did the scenery.

Rainbow Point

Trail from Canyon rim to canyon floor. About 4 miles each way.

Looks like cities from a distance

Leaving Bryce on Scenic Rt 12

Almost there!

Still beautiful going down elevation

Lots of ranches and cows along the way.  These two young ones were having a little squabble!

Zion can be a dangerous place depending and the weather and earth movement.
You'll see why in a moment

This was the view of the canyon walls as we drove in through the Eastern entrance.
The rocks are layered with different colors of sediment that occurred millions of years ago.
Natures artwork at its best.

This depression in the rock that looks like a mouth was caused by water seeping into crevices
an eventually causing the rock to ooze out, leaving sloping slabs of rock hardened along the way.

In Springdale, Utah, a small town before the southern entrance to Zion National Park

We saw a herd (8 to 10) of Big Horn Sheep on the way into Zion but couldn't stop to get a picture. This is as close as we came.

Rock and Gem shop. Amazing.

Local restaurant, packed. We had to eat next store.

 Jack's next store, was it.

Beautiful waterfall sculpture

Interesting store wall

Small town susceptible to big town problems.
